DENTAL SEALANTS

The back teeth, molars and sometime premolars, have deep grooves on the chewing surface that can be so deep that it is impossible to clean them with a toothbrush bristle.  However, bacteria can invade these grooves and cause decay that can be hard to detect until it is advanced.  Dental sealants are a thin resin film that is bonded into the grooves to protect molar and premolar chewing surfaces from decay.  The procedure is painless, fast, costs less much less than a filling and an excellent investment to protect teeth from getting cavities at all.
